Mine is probably the Waiting Room.
George Tavern fo sho
How small is small?
Less than 100? Less than 300?
I'll go for St Stephens church in Shepherds Bush.
One of my favs is Sebright Arms
How small is small is a great question. Nothing bigger than Roundhouse is small.
Wilton Music Hall
I would say The Troxy, I saw disclosure there at a Red Bull/ Dice gig when they released Caracal, was a great venue.
Another vote for Wilton Music Hall. Also The Lexington.
Depends on the music but for psych, garage then The Victoria in Dalston is pretty good. I really like XOYO but I don't see many gigs on their at the moment. Lexington is excellent (great sound and aircon) but they do seem to have an employment policy for miserable bar staff
The roundhouse is massive! Grouping needs to be something like
First two would be small.
Aye. The Waiting Room is good but a little bit hot & sweaty in the summer. St Pancras Old Church is a pretty nice little venue with great acoustics. I'm a fan of The Lexington and Moth Club too. Relative newbie Omeara is also pretty good, nice staff, decent bar and food. Only negative is the mystery death step in the middle of the audience area floor (still walking with a limp 6 weeks later now I know it's there never again!). There's plenty of others. Depends on how small we're talking....
idk if you could class barfly (or whatever it's called now) small but i've always liked it
MOTH and Birthdays
Lexington and The Waiting are two good shouts.
Also a fan of the Courtyard Theatre in Shoreditch
Or the Social
I really liked Hoxton Bar and Kitchen as it had great sound, atmosphere and attentive listeners.
I haven't seen any bands advertised for there in over 6 months though.
Union Chapel is a lovely space, Lexington (if people move forward) and The Social (if I'm not at the back)
The Waiting Room is a great intimate venue. I love going there for new music and have discovered loads of new artists there and met loads of cool people. There is actually an event there on Dice which looks really good on the 20th which is introducing some new artists. Should be good!
I agree with St Pancras old Church
Also, really like Arch 17 (The Pineapple Room) at www.bureauofsillyideas.com,Wilton's Music HallJamboree (at Cable Street Studios)
Moth Club and The Shacklewell Arms. For dj's it has to be Brilliant Corners, the sound is as clean and clean as it can be!
